Kitchen Cabinets – Organizing

If you are having trouble finding things in your cabinets it may be time to clean them out and get reorganized. After time your items in the kitchen cabinets get moved around and put in the wrong places. You end up with a mess and will begin to have trouble finding things. You should start from scratch and try to arrange things in such a manner as to make your kitchen friendly for the cook. You can do this by putting cooking items near the stove. Keep your spices on a shelf next to the stove so you can get to them easily. On the upper shelf of the same cabinet you can put your medicines. This will keep them up out of the reach of your children and out of sight of others.

Put the pots and pans in the cabinet on the floor next to the stove. This is a place where you need to have a cabinet just for one item. Put the lids to the pots and pans on one shelf and the different pans on another shelf. You may need more than one shelf for your pans.

When you put your plates and bowls away put the glass ones on the bottom shelf and the plastics on the top shelf. You will have less accidents and broken dishes this way. The same is true for glasses and mugs. The closer the glass is to you the easier it is to manage. If a plastic plate or bowl accidently falls off the shelf the damage will be minor.

When you decide to organize you might as well take advantage of the empty cupboards and clean them inside and out. It is usually safe to use a mild dish detergent on your cabinets that are stained. If there is a buildup of grease and grime try using a cleaner that contains orange oil. This is great for dirt, grime and grease but is gentle on the wood. Brush the shelves of all dirt and remove the contact paper you have down. It should be time to put new up. This is something that is cheap and saves on damage to your cabinets.

If you simply find that your existing cabinets are too small, you can order new cabinets for your kitchen online and have them installed professionally.
